This electrode has a nominal composition of 20% Cr, 10% Ni and 0. 4% Si, with a maximum carbon content of 0. 03%. The low carbon in this alloy minimizes carbide precipitation and makes it more resistant to intergranular corrosion. The strength of the weld deposit is less than niobium stabilized alloys or the higher carbon alloys at elevated temperatures.
